Why You Need a Lightning Protection System in the State of Delaware

Delaware is well liked for its transitional climate that supports a wide range of vegetation. Most parts of the Mid-Atlantic state experience mild summers and winters. However, the state does experience some of Mother Nature’s wrath with frequent lightning strikes.

Delaware experiences an average of slightly over 15,960 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes a year. This puts it at 8.0 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes per square mile annually. If you live in Delaware, there is a high chance of your property being struck by lightning.

  • I only had a limited window of time for this project. William and his son arrived on time and installed a system on my house very quickly. They had enough time left to complete my barn as well. The workmanship I saw on both structures was great. I highly recommend them to anyone else.

  • The installation was quick and with first rate. materials. The Tampa Bay area holds a US record for the number of thunderstorms per year. I think that one week after installation the RV storage building that is protected by the lightning rods was struck. Aside from one gosh awful noise there was no damage.

Lightning Protection for Barns & Farmhouses

Barn Lightning Protection

We install lightning rods with wire connections to the ground for barns. If lightning strikes the barn, it won’t bother your horses because the rods will absorb the brunt of it.

Lightning Protection for Trees

Tree Lightning Protection System

Lightning protection devices from WB Lightning Rods can lessen the likelihood of harm from a  lightning strike. In order to mitigate the risk of tree damage and carry the electrical charge to the soil, where the energy is diffused, lightning protection systems use copper conductors coupled to a ground rod. Our technologies have a strong track record of safeguarding trees, and also lessen the possibility of a side-flash to neighboring structures.

Lightning Rods

The lightning rod, which Benjamin Franklin invented in 1749, is a metal pole mounted atop a building that draws lightning’s electrical charge away from the structure. The rod is attached to an aluminum or copper cable that’s connected to an underground conductive grid.
